Oh My Goodness

So I spent that last week with my extended family. My family is so conservative that my aunt who believes in an alternate lifestyle, which lifestyle usually calls for being liberal, is still conservative. We even watched the famous Rush speech at CPAC together and she was always making Obama jokes. If somebody needed something and didnt know how to get it they were told to ask Obama because he would get it for them. Somebody need money, ask Obama. It was fun though I almost feel less conservative around my family because they are so conservative.

Side note: I need to find where I can get copies of speeches given at CPAC. If anyone knows please tell me. I might just have to purchase it. But for anybody that has not heard Rush's speech I urge you to read it. You should be able to find it, possibly on his website. Someday I will be able to afford to go to CPAC and be in VA when its occurring.

Anyways so lets see if anything good is going on in the political scene....

Two Democratic senators have said that they will vote against the spending bill being proposed because of the wasteful spending included. Apparently Congress is once again adding too much pork barrel spending. CNN gives the details. Though if you look closely at this site Taxpayers for Common Sense one of those senators has requested some pork barrel spending. Haha. Good for McCain though. He requested none. Still happy to see that at least one Democrat that still believes in earmarks. What type of defense is saying that is was submitting more than a year ago. Get rid of it. More than a year ago you make not have known a depression was beginning to occur. Why not fix the spending and use it in ways that will help the economy. Why get ourselves into deeper debt? Things can be overturned. Earmarks can be removed. And why are the people that spend so much time complaining about Bush's budget and our debt going to spend billions of more money than he ever did. Someone please explain this to me? I don't care what Bush did at this point. We were not having the same economic crisis then. I am not saying what Bush did was right. I am saying, why are we making it worse. Why are we spending billions more?

On a happier note, I want to state again that I love Glen Beck and this looks interesting. You are not alone looks like it could be interesting. Perhaps we should all tune in.

For once China has something right. They are increasing their military spending. Why cant America get on that band wagon. Why do I feel that our military has a potential to be screwed in the coming years. No wonder people get scared of China. We continually allow them to slowly catch up. Hopefully we will still have the best military ever after the next four years. Normally I would not even notice China's spending but we don't exactly have a president whose loyal to the military. But really I just thought it was a random article so I had to write something about it.

I think two subjects I want to write about soon is why i believe in conservatism and about liberals getting defensive by our attacks when they attacked us the same way for the past 8 years. They are on my mind but its late and I need sleep.

The Sky Is Falling

911 tape captures chimpanzee ripping apart the face of his owners friend. Why this is important? Because its a sign that the end of civilization as we know it is coming. Think 28 Days Later. It happened to them. It can happen to us. Perhaps someone should check if he was filled with rage.

Another sign is that the Pope tells Nancy Pelosi life must be protected. You know the end is coming when a pope meets Pelosi to try and persuade her that abortion is wrong. The good news is the time is not coming to soon as the fact that she tries to ignore it when speaking to the public about her meeting is just another sign of our times. Maybe in heaven aborted babies wont have to stay in the same place as those that supported their abortion. Maybe I just need to stop thinking.

Whats the deal Obama?

Obama has not impressed me yet. Since in office, he has spent his whole time trying to get this ridiculous stimulus package passed. This means that I have been spending a lot of my time writing about it, signing petitions, researching, and I still need to write more letters and possibly call my representatives. I urge all who disagree with this package, and I hope thats everyone, to do the same.

Another reason he has not impressed me is all his appointments and those people he has tried to appoint. Why do they all seem to be criminals. Yes cheating on your tax's does make you a criminal. And yes Tim Geithner did not pay some tax's he owed until he was picked to be the Secretary of the Treasury. So someone who can't pay his taxs when hes suppose to is running our treasury. Are you Serious? Even if it was a mistake, shouldnt we find someone to head the treasury who has not made that mistake. I like this stamp. Perhaps I should buy one.

What about this order to close Guantanamo Bay? So now we can let our criminals mingle with our terrorists in American Jails so that the terrorists can have the civil liberties they should not even get. I can't often predict the future but I think in this case I can. Our future will be filled with more crime and more home grown terrorists.

Oh and what about the executive order to reverse President Bush's ban on federal funding to foreign establishments that allow abortions. Now I understand that some countries need help in the family planning area but how about helping with just that. Lets teach them about protection, about when is the right time to have kids and how to support a family, and about adoptions. Why teach them how to take the easy road and abort the baby. I don't believe in abortions (in most cases) nor do I think my tax dollars should be going to support abortions. I might become a bum for just that reason.

Well that is all I have to say about that for now. Maybe I will come back to all these problems later.

The Stimulus Package

Since the government decided to acknowledge the economic crises they have being passing economic bills like crazy to bailout companies. I have not agreed with any of the measures made so far but my disagreement has turned to disgust as Obama has been fighting to pass the Stimulus Bill that is currently at 827 billion dollars (and lets not forget all the previous millions given). Now if they were just planning on giving that away to American Citizens or investing that in some form that would grow the economy than perhaps it would not be as disagreeable to me. But unfortunately that is not the case.

The Washington Post was nice enough to dissect the bill for the public. In this beautiful dissection I see money going to expand broadband in rural areas, repairing medical facilities, school renovations, and education programs. I hope they think they are going to make jobs by doing this because while these are all ideal and wonderful measures, are they really going to stimulate the economy. Will enough jobs be created to offset all the money that is being used to accomplish them. And this doesn't even include the pork barrel spending that has no nicely been included in the bill. I have not read the actual bill so I cant confirm all the pork barrel spending that is in it but I have read that it includes 1 billion for Amtrack, 600 million for new fleet of government cars, 650 million for digital TV coupons and 21 million to re-sod the mall damaged during inauguration. And that is worth going into debt at the moment because??? And that is going to stimulate the economy how???

Also, is the government going into such a huge debt really going to be worth it to us down the road. Are we going to want to be dealing with this debt for so many years down the road. And will the government going into debt, borrowing, and taking money in increased taxes, really stimulus the economy where it needs to be stimulated.

This package is so horrific that Senator McCain is even putting up a fight. He clarified what the point of a stimulus package was for Obama and the Senate and stated what Obama's bill was not. "The whole point, Mr. President, is to enact tax cuts and spending measures that truly stimulate the economy. There are billions and tens of billions of dollars in this bill which will have no effect within three, four, five, or more years, or ever. Or ever." And perhaps they are just tired after voting for all the bailouts, but I would assume its a bad sign when only three Republicans vote for a stimulus bill.

I don't know who I was listening to the other day on the radio but I agree with what the host said. It will one of the catastrophic if signed and our children and our children/s children will be dealing with the effects of this bill. I will not support this bill and I will loose most of my trust in any politician that votes for it including Obama (speaking of which I can't wait for the day that he actually does something I agree with).

THE NEW RNC CHAIRMAN WHOSE BLACKER THEN OBAMA

Sorry if my title is offensive. But I am so annoyed at how much black people love Obama because hes black when honestly hes only part black. But that's a subject for another time. Right now its time to congratulate Michael Steele for winning the chairmanship. It was a long day for him but well worth it I am sure. For those who don't know who Michael Steele is let me give you a short bio.

He is an African American politician and lawyer. From 2003 to 2007 he served as Lieutenant Governor of Maryland. Steel was the first African American to serve Maryland state wide office and the first Republican liutenant governor in the state (obviously a big deal in a Democratic stronghold). In 2006 he ran for the Maryland Senate Seat but lost to Democratic Congressman Ben Cardin. I was flown out from Utah to campaign for him in that election. I have never made so many phone calls in my life. That was the sad year that the Republicans lost seat after seat but we helped him put up a good fight.

Going back many years, Chairman Steele was adopted into a stongly Democratic household but thanks to his mother who refused to ever go on welfare and thanks to Reagan he joined the Republican Party. He was in NHS (like me) in high school and was involved in many high school productions (I did a few myself). He majored in international relations at John Hopkins and went on to receive his law degree at Georgetown. He and his family are active Catholics.

But back to his politics. He agrees that we need to work to secure Iraq so that we can start pulling troops out but that we also should stay there as long as necessary. He wants to repeal the death tax and make tax relief permanent. He is okay with stem cell research as long as it does not destroy the embryo as medical research should be about saving lifes, not destroying them. Or better yet "The key thing to keep in here is that science moves us in a certain direction, and it pushes the envelope, as it should. But as a society, we also must, must consider the, the, the religious, the moral, and the ethical values of that society, and that needs to be a part of this as well" (2006 Meet the Press Michael Steele. He does not believe in total privatized health care. He is a believer in finding alternative energy sources because we can continue to depend on foreign sources for our energy. But he did ask Bush for an immediate moratorium on the federal gas tax and he is the one that started the phrase "drill baby drill" that was commonly used in the 2008 presidential elections (one of my favorite chants).

Michael Steele is not perfect but I know he is a good person, a smart man, and a excellent politician. And yes I have met the man. There are a few politicians that I hold in high regards that I have campaigned for and he is one of those. Though I am sure the other RNC nominations were good men and politicians I know Michael Steele will make an excelent Charmain and is exactly what the RNC needs rights now.
