China and Physical Punishment

This article was crazy to me. I do not think I agree that unhealthy addictions to the internet deserve physical punishment. But then again this comes from an internet addict who is very obviously using the internet so she can blog . But on a more serious note, I don't even begin to understand how people feel its okay beating kids to death. Or how parents feel okay trying to get their kids to change their habits by using such measures. All I have to say is that I hope this law actually changes this practice in China and that it is not just words coming from someones mouth to make things seem okay.
